When: May 27, 2010 at 6:00PM
Where: The St. Botolph Club, 199 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston
Please save the evening of May 27 for our class dinner. The setting for this final Radcliffe class event of our 50th reunion will be the St. Botolph Club in Boston, where our classmate Frances Trumbull Webb is a member. The club was founded in 1800 to promote in Boston the mingling of authors and artists. In an earlier location, it was the first place in America where the paintings of John Singer Sargent and of Claude Monet were displayed. The works of New England artists continue to be exhibited there.
This gracious old edifice on Commonwealth Avenue will provide the perfect ambiance for our special 50th reunion event. After dinner, Susan Diamond will present her entertaining commentary on the class as she did at both the 40th and 45th reunions. Costs for class members will be covered by our class treasury. The cost for guests is $100.
If you plan to attend the dinner, please return the enclosed reply card as soon as possible to assist us in planning the event. If you are bringing a guest, please make the check out to Radcliffe College Class of 1960 and return it with your guest's name to the address on the enclosed reply card.
Other Radcliffe events to note during reunion week are our Radcliffe Class meeting at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26 in Sever 113, and Radcliffe Day on Friday, May 28, which is sponsored by the Radcliffe Institute. You will be hearing from the Institute about the day's schedule and the luncheon honoring Gloria Steinem, which requires a reservation. We will have a class table or tables for the luncheon.
We are communicating these Radcliffe '60-only events in this letter because they will not be listed in the schedule that you will receive in the 50th registration packet for our celebration held jointly with Harvard '60.
Please plan ahead to stay over Thursday night for the Radcliffe '60 class dinner. When you register for the joint reunion events, if you opt to stay in the Harvard Houses, be sure to extend your stay through Thursday night. Transportation will be provided between Cambridge and the St. Botolph Club. Details will be provided when you arrive in Cambridge.
This soiree will be a memorable occasion and a fitting way to cap off our special reunion.
